Our second release of this wine is composed of our Vermentino grapes and for the first time we blended in some white (yes white) Montepulciano. Simply put, Desaria is a white wine that wants to be a red wine. To this end we treat this wine in the winery like we would treat any red wine through extended skin contact, fermenting and aging in oak as well as liberal use of the Appassimento drying process. The end result is a wonderfully rich and enticing full-bodied white that is unlike any white made in North Carolina or anywhere in the country for that matter. We are extremely proud of this wine, and we hope you like it as much as we do.
