Our reds are ready for blending and we need you to help us determine the blend for the Raffaldini Grande Riserva! Each session is a two-hour education wine experience led by Owner Jay Raffaldini in our winery barrel room. Each blend you create will be carefully analyzed, sampled and help inspire our new vintage of Grande Riserva. 

This is an opportunity to hone your winemaking knowledge and ability, learn more about grape varietals, and make a few new friends in the process. Blending trials will be held in the barrel room allowing you to experience the winery during the winemaking session.

Join us at Raffaldini Vineyards for an al fresco wine and painting event. This two hour instructional workshop will be overlooking the vines and Blue Ridge Mountains at Villa Raffaldini.

Charlotte, NC artist Rina Norwood of Rina Norwood Designs will instruct the group.

Throughout the class, enjoy award winning Raffaldini wine as your inner artist is inspired to create gorgeous, unique artwork for you to take home.

The Italian Kitchen: Cooking Demonstration

Join us for an afternoon of wine and food as Executive Chef Corey Hooks, demonstrates two signature Italian recipes. Learn some helpful tips from Chef Corey and watch him prepare two courses. Chef Corey will be demonstrating a Fall Minestrone soup with butternut squash, celery, artichoke, onion & broccolini and Penne alla Norma pasta with eggplant, tomato, onion, basil & ricotta Panzanella Salad. Price includes the cooking demonstration, food sampling, 2 glasses of wine and recipe cards.

Harvest 2019

This nearly unprecedented streak of dry weather with the last significant rainfall event of less than 2" in late August left us with warm, dry temperatures all throughout the ripening season, culminating with what is simply the best harvest in the history of Raffaldini Vineyards. Stay tuned! 
Harvest Update From

Vineyard Manager Jason Krug

One word to describe the 2019 harvest year “Bountiful." Bountiful days full of clear skies and ample sunshine led to a vineyard loaded with juicy full clusters. Its really hard to imagine a better year for growing vitis vinifera on the East Coast. First we had a great two weeks of dry weather and light breezes during the flowering stage in spring leading to an awesome fruit set. We had a few rain event through the season but this year but the clouds didn’t stay long and quickly parted for the sun keeping the vines photosynthesizing and maturing the fruit. September is when the grapes are getting close to pick. Sugars are rising, acid is falling and the fruit is developing phenolics, flavors and the complexities that build a fine wine. If you get a lot of rain in September you can inflate the berries with water and dilute and wash out all the things we look for in a great vintage. With only one rain event dropping less than ¼ inch of rain in September you could not ask for better ripening conditions.  2019 has the potential to be an awesome vintage.
