The flight of the Bumble Bee defines physics- their wings are too small and don't flap fast enough to support their weight. Yet somehow, through the sheer force of their will and determination, they fly. Given the nearly impossible climate conditions we have here, we should not make a wine this wonderful, yet we do. Raffaldini Grande Riserva our Flagship is our Bumble Bee wine. Montepulciano, Petit Verdot, and Sagrantino grapes, harvested at optimal ripeness are triple-sorted and then dried heavily using the Appassimento drying process to further concentrate the grapes natural flavors and aromas.

Savor a rare opportunity to join owner Jay Raffaldini for an exclusive Grande Riserva vertical wine tasting. Guests will enjoy a vertical tasting of three past vintages alongside the newly released 2018 vintage and paired with heavy hors d'oeuvres. See for yourself how Raffaldini Grande Riserva withstands the test of time. The event will take place at Villa Raffaldini and will be extremely limited.
Join Owner Jay Raffaldini and long time NC resident and outdoorsman Steve Nelson, as they show you the way through the Raffaldini woods and vineyards. Wear sensible walking shoes and prepare yourself for a moderate 90 minute hike followed by a hearty luncheon which of course includes wine! During the hike, Jay will share details of the vineyard and Steve will share his love of the woods. Ticket includes a guided hike, lunch and two glasses of wine.

Together for the first time, take advantage of this special trio of Montepulciano for Dad! Montepulciano Riserva is sourced exclusively from our oldest and highest altitude vineyard block. Montepulciano clusters are sorted three times prior to Appassimento, the traditional Italian method of drying fruit, and fermentation. This laborious technique creates an opaque, full-bodied Montepulciano of unparalleled structure, character and lively acidity with aging potential. Often compared to Merlot for it’s general drinkability and easy pairing with a wide range of food it is simply a delicious wine.
During the shelter in place order, Jay Raffaldini has offered a series of live, virtual tastings for wine club members on Zoom. This fourth vintage of a special project between friends and winemakers JW Ray of JOLO Winery and Jay Raffaldini of Raffaldini Vineyards and Winery. This special wine is limited to 48 case production and only available at Raffaldini while supplies last. This wine features the hearty Montepulciano grape grown at Raffaldini Vineyards skillfully blended with the Norton Grape from JOLO, a spectacularly fruit-forward and smooth component to the wine.

Join us for the official kick off of RARA Sisboombah! We will start the day at 12pm at Raffaldini Vineyards with a special conversation with Jay and JW and then move to JOLO Vineyards to enjoy more wine and conversation. This is a complimentary event, but please RSVP as space is limited.
The 2019 Vermentino Superiore, made from our signature white grape, reflects the best of what our estate vineyard has to offer utilizing minimal intervention from our winemaker. This hands-off approach is built around whole cluster pressed juice fermented in stainless steel to bring forth the citrus and tropical aspects of the grape while maintaining its refreshing, natural acidity. It's unique mid-palate depth is the result of a small addition of Appassimento wood-fermented Vermentino. Our Winemaker, Chris Nelson, recommends serving Vermentino Superiore slightly chilled, about 55°F-60°F and serving in a larger glass, like one you would enjoy with a red wine, to fully take in all of the subtle aromas and flavors.
