After a nearly decade long absence rating wines from North Carolina, we are thrilled to share that Wine Enthusiast has awarded top marks to several of our wines in their upcoming August/September issue. Leading the pack are our 2022 Grande Riserva and 2019 Patrimonio, each earning an outstanding 92 points—a testament to the dedication and passion behind our Appassimento style and estate-grown fruit. Additional honors include 91 points for both the 2021 Grande Riserva and 2021 Patrimonio, an 90 points for our Vermentino Superiore, Sagrantino (2022 and 2019), and Montepulciano Riserva (2017). These scores are consistent with ratings from James Suckling and other respected global tasters. This not only reflects our passion to make wines that can rival our benchmark peers in Italy but also underscores our commitment to get better in each and every little thing we do on the Vineyard and Winery.

The Raffaldini Vineyards House of Tannins Playlists are here!
Download any or all three playlists now available on Spotify each perfectly paired with our wines. The first playlist named Musica del Vino is meant to be enjoyed while opening a bottle of our dry red or white wines and is about an hour length. The second playlist named Musica del Vino Grande is almost four hours in duration and demands you drink a magnum (or two) and naturally is Jay’s favorite. The third playlist called Vino Botanico is our version of Yacht Rock and meant to be paired with, you guessed it, one of our four Botanical wines, also about an hour in length.

Join us for the highly anticipated release of "Girasole," our elegant rosé crafted exclusively from estate-grown Montepulciano grapes. Girasole is bone-dry with crisp acidity and a beautifully balanced medium body, making it an excellent pairing for seafood, poultry, and summer fare. Free samples of Girasole will be available over the weekend.
Sunday, July 6 - Summer Market - Family Day
Join us for our Summer Market on Sunday, July 6th. This event offers a perfect continuation your Fourth of July celebrations. Families are encouraged to join in the fun, with activities for kids and a vibrant atmosphere featuring local vendors showcasing crafts, fresh fruits and veggies, and a tempting food truck to enhance the festive spirit. Four Seasons Summer Wine Tasting Dinner

The Four Seasons Wine Tasting Dinners are held Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and are hosted by Jay Raffaldini. Each dinner features four seasonal food courses and four specially chosen wines to complement the food. Culinary and wine descriptions will be given during the evening to enhance your enjoyment. This is an opportunity to share your food and wine passion with like-minded friends. The atmosphere will be relaxed and casual with a focus on meeting new friends and enjoying la dolce vita.

Gelato and Sorbetto Class with Chef Nguyet
Sunday, July 27th, 2025 1:00pm-3:00pm
Come spend the afternoon with us at Raffaldini Vineyards learning how to make Italian Gelato and Sorbetto. Chef Nguyet, owner of Nougat Desserts, will walk you through each delicious step while you sip wine and snack on some tasty bites. Chef Nguyet specializes in classic European techniques and she is the winner of numerous awards in national and international competitions, including medaling in the Culinary Olympics representing New York City.
Your ticket includes the demo, recipe cards, a serving of Gelato/Sorbetto, small bites, and of course, wine. Class begins at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 27th, 2025, in the Fattoria. Spots are limited, so grab yours before they’re gone!

Fall Wine Club Release

Saturday & Sunday, August 9-10
We invite you to our much-anticipated Fall Wine Club Pickup Experience at Raffaldini Vineyards, happening on two weekends, Saturday & Sunday, August 2nd - 3rd from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Saturday and Saturday & Sunday, August 9th - 10th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the winery. You will get to taste the wine club wines and enjoy some tasty Italian bites.
Also on each day, Jay Raffaldini and Chris Nelson will give a fun and educational (if Chris has his way) presentation about the wine club wines. Their presentation will start at 1:00 PM on both days. Raffle drawings will take place immediately following each session (You must be present to win and be a current wine club member).

Grande Riserva Vertical Tasting

Experience the evolution of our flagship wine through the years. Owner Jay Raffaldini and Winemaker Chris Nelson will lead a guided, blind vertical tasting of five distinguished vintages of Raffaldini Grande Riserva, served with small bites to complement the experience.
Grande Riserva is a wine of patience and reward—its bold structure and layered complexity deepen beautifully with age, revealing new dimensions of character and nuance over time. Crafted from Montepulciano, Tannat, and Petit Verdot, hand-harvested at peak ripeness, each grape is triple-sorted and dried using the traditional Appassimento process, intensifying its flavor and aromatics.
This is a rare opportunity to taste the story of our signature wine—one vintage at a time in a fun and engaging format.

Wine Club Member Spotlight!
Ron and Gerry Pataky
Meet Ron & Gerry Pataky! They were born and raised in Connecticut. Both are graduates of the University of Connecticut with bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and education. They married in 1964 and have three sons and five grandchildren. After working in the power industry for over 30 years, Ron retired and he and Gerry moved to NC in 2001 where youngest son Brian lived with his wife and two children. Brian is an IT engineer having worked for Verizon for 18 years. Ron and Gerry live in Chatham County near Jordan Lake while Brian lives in nearby Apex. All are Riserva club members.

The SECU Family House on the Richard J. Reynolds, III & Marie M. Reynolds Campus provides affordable lodging and support services in a caring environment for referred adult patients and/or their caregivers who travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., for medical treatment.
Local male amateur chefs and their teams will compete to win over the taste buds of nearly 400 guests. These chefs represent all corners of the Winston-Salem community—from doctors and bankers to realtors, educators, and beyond. It’s a fun-filled evening you won’t want to miss!

We encourage you to read our visitor experience guide. Your cooperation will help us provide the best possible experience for all our patrons.
We have partnered with Tock to provide a reservation system for tastings and flights at the Villa and on the Piazza. Our continued goal is to provide the best experience for you, our valued customers and friends. While walk-ins are welcome and a reservation is not required, we believe that making a reservation will enhance your visit.
As a general reminder to all our guests, to provide a safe, relaxing, and intimate experience for our guests, all visitors must be at least 21 years of age. Infants and children are no longer permitted at the Tasting Room, except on holidays and specially designated family days when we can appropriately staff and have child-friendly activities available. Please see our calendar for a full list of Family days.
