Learn the ingredients and technique involved in the creation of each dessert and why they pair perfectly with each wine. Tickets are $30 + tax per person and include a sample of 4 wines along with a dessert pairing for each wine.

RARA Round Three!
Saturday, March 9

On Saturday, March 9, 2019, JOLO Winery & Vineyards and Raffaldini Vineyards will once again host back-to-back special release events for their third annual wine blend collaboration, RARA Sisboombah.

Jay Raffaldini and JW Ray will co-host two gatherings on Saturday, March 9th, where they will share their winemaking stories over complimentary passed appetizers. The first event will take place at Raffaldini Vineyards beginning at noon The second gathering will begin at approximately 2:00 p.m. at JOLO Winery & Vineyards. Both events are open to the public and no reservation is required.

A very limited number of bottles will be available for sale at JOLO and Raffaldini Vineyards while supplies last. Bottles are priced at $45. Last year's vintage received a 90 point score from world famous wine critic, James Suckling!

Meet the Team:
Cotton Lentz - Cellar Master

Cotton joined Raffaldini Vineyards in August 2017 as the Cellar Master. In his role, Cotton oversees the day to day operations of the winery. Prior to Raffaldini, Cotton had a forty seven year career as a Nuclear Engineer. Raffaldini is thrilled to have Cotton's expertise and enthusiasm at the winery and in the villa on a daily basis.

RARA Round Three: Raffaldini and JOLO Continue Highly Rated Wine Collaboration

Pilot Mountain and Ronda, N.C., January 29, 2019 – On Saturday, March 9, 2019, JOLO Winery & Vineyards and Raffaldini Vineyards will once again host back-to-back special release events for their third annual wine blend collaboration, RARA Sisboombah.

This year, award-winning winemakers and North Carolina viticulture advocates Jay Raffaldini and JW Ray and have changed the blend from prior releases based on the best wines available in their cellars.

Last year's offering earned a 90-point rating by James Suckling.

"We have had so much fun with this collaboration, says Raffaldini. "Fans of both wineries really seem to enjoy the two wines we have produced together." Ray adds, "Last year's RARA sold out in less than three days. With the growing interest in our collaboration, we fully expect a similar (if not quicker) depletion of the inventory of this full-bodied, well-balanced red wine blend. It's one for the ages!"

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is a nonpartisan, non-profit member of the Feeding America National Network of Food Banks that recovers and distributes food to low-income neighbors and provides programs designed to empower people with skills to meet their own food needs through culinary job training, beginner gardening, and cooking healthy on a budget. North Carolina is the 8th hungriest state in the U.S. In the Triangle, more than 260,000 people face food insecurity. We believe in building a community food system that supports all of its residents with knowledge, skills, and access to healthy eating.

Meet the Team:
Jason Krug - Vineyard Manager

Jason is the Vineyard Manager at Raffaldini Vineyards. Hailing from the small mining town called Clarkdale just outside the majestic town of Sedona, Arizona he has always been drawn to working outside and playing in nature. The life of a farmer has naturally suited him. Before he found himself planted in North Carolina, Jason managed a 20 acre vineayrd called Page Springs Cellar. Arizona, much like North Carolina, is building itself to be an up and coming wine region. When not caring for the vines, you can find Jason in the forest hiking, climbing or camping.

The event will host the biggest and brightest stars in the industry, and there is a limited allocation of seating open to the public.

The North Carolina Fine Wines Society was established as a nonprofit with two goals. The first goal is to promote the quality of North Carolina Fine Wines (Vinifera & Hybrids). The second goal is to fund a scholarship for NC students, attending NC Colleges or Universities, pursuing careers in Enology, Viticulture, and wine related Hospitality and Agritourism programs.Help us support the NC wine industry's growth by donating to our 501(c)(3) Scholarship Fund.

Meet the Team:
Todd Shaw - Facilities Director

Todd is the Director of Facilities at Raffaldini Vineyards. Born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, he studied Fine Arts at Antioch College in Ohio. After college, Todd worked in the photo industry taking him to NYC and Portland, OR. It was in Portland that Todd became interested in the wine industry. Todd moved to NC in 2017 and started working as a member of the vineyard crew. When Todd is not fixing, maintaining or improving things at Raffaldini, he enjoys spending time on his farm with his partner David.
